By 2040, the Silicon Valley will be made up largely of Latinos, according to a report.
The minority group will make up the largest popular in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties within the next 30 years, a report by the National Hispanic Organization of Real Estate Associates says.
Former San Jose mayor Ron Gonzales revealed the information at he June meeting of the group, which aims to promote leadership in the Latino community through commerce, community building and the promotion of home ownership.
The study also showed that along with Latinos, Asians are driving population growth in the valley and the state.
The findings are part of the group's Silicon Valley Latino Report Card project, which focuses on five quality of life areas: education, health, financial stability, environmental sustainability and housing.
