The Doors are Still Open

Two members set to rock the Fillmore Sunday night

The hinges may have come loose on The Doors years ago but their music is still going strong.

Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of the Doors will be in San Francisco this Sunday playing a show at the Fillmore, 1805 Geary Boulevard, at 8 p.m.

The keyboardist Manzarek has put out six albums since Jim Morrison, the lead singer of The Doors, died in 1971. Manzarek, who lives in Napa, is known for his flamboyant playing of the piano, often not looking where he is pressing and throwing his body all over the place.

Krieger will bring his guitar playing skills to the show. He was the genius that created the riffs in "Light My Fire" and "Love Her Madly." Together with the third member of the band, the boys have played shows as The Doors before.

The duo will be in town playing songs from Manzarek's newest release "Ballads Before the Rain." Tickets can be had via Live Nation.
