Eight-year-old Madyson "Maddy" Middleton disappeared from her Santa Cruz apartment complex on Sunday afternoon while she was riding her Razor scooter. Her body was found the next day in a dumpster at the Tannery Arts Center, where she lived. That same evening, a 15-year-old boy, a neighbor, was arrested in connection with her death.

4:12 p.m. July 26, 2015: The time Santa Cruz police first said Madyson "Maddy" Middleton was last seen at 1030 River Street, the Tannery Arts Center apartment complexes.
5:07 p.m. July 26: Maddy was last spotted near mailboxes outside a parking garage on the ground floor and captured on video surveillance.
6:08 p.m. July 26: A 911 call was made to report Maddy missing.
Sunday night: Santa Cruz police, a Santa Cruz County Sheriffโs Office Search and Rescue Team and volunteers search for Maddy at the Tannery, along the San Lorenzo River and nearby beaches.
July 27: Search efforts resume efforts. More photos of Maddy released, including surveillance video of her riding schooter at apartment complex.
11 a.m. July 27: Santa Cruz police call Maddyโs disappearance a missing person case. FBI agents called in to help. Later, about 50 FBI agents search door to door at the Tannery. Santa Cruz detectives look in trash cans and ask residents to open vehicles in Tannery parking garages.

7:55 p.m. July 27: Santa Cruz police detectives find Maddy dead in a recycling bin in the parking garage and arrest a 15-year-old who lives at the Tannery on suspicion of homicide.
11 a.m. July 28: Police Chief Kevin Vogel identifies the body found in the dumpster as Maddy Middleton, and says she was lured to the apartment of a 15-year-old who allegedly killed her, and brought her body back down to the bin, where he hid and concealed her.
July 28: Vigil held for Maddy Middleton.
11 a.m. July 29: District Attorney Jeffrey Rosell announces murder, kidnap and sexual assault charges against Adrian Jerry Gonzalez, 15.
Oct. 29: Adrian Gonzalez has a preliminary hearing date set for February.
