Two Fairfield Residents Suspected of THC Sales: Police

Two Fairfield residents have been identified as suspects after a month-long police investigation of a smoke shop turned up THC cartridges for vape pens, butane hash oil, and more than $14,000 in cash.

The investigation started with a tip to police that the Smoke Shop N More business at 1306 W. Texas St. was illegally selling tetrahydrocannabinol products and also selling tobacco products to juveniles.

After an undercover person purchased THC products at the shop and an enforcement stop was made on juveniles who had just purchased tobacco products, a search warrant was served Wednesday at the business.

Identified as suspects were the shop owner, 39, and an employee, 32, both Fairfield residents. Police did not release the names of the suspects.

While a November 2016 proposition legalized the recreational use and possession of marijuana for any person 21 or older, Fairfield does not allow the sale of marijuana within city limits.
