An asteroid 100 feet in diameter is expected to pass by Earth next month and could come as close as 11,000 miles away — just 5 percent of the distance between the Earth and the moon, NBC News reports.

On the other hand, asteroid 2013 TX68 could stay as far away as 9 million miles as it zooms past the earth March 5, according to NASA.

Despite the potential for a relatively close flyby, researchers don't forsee any danger.

"The possibilities of collision on any of the three future flyby dates are far too small to be of any real concern," Paul Chodas of NASA said in a statement.
