One of the Cuban prisoners freed last week in a swap for American contractor Alan Gross was allowed to provide sperm to impregnate his wife, who is due to give birth in two weeks, NBC News reported. The artificial insemination was brokered by Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., after he and his wife met with Gerardo Hernandez's wife during a trip to Cuba in February 2014. Hernandez was serving a double life sentence when he and two other convicted spies known as the "Cuban Five" were released last week on the same day that Gross and a Cuban who spied for the U.S. were sprung and flown to the U.S.
