A severe storm threat was expected to bring high winds and drop golf ball-sized hail from Texas to Illinois on Friday. "If you can leave your car in the garage that would be preferable," warned The Weather Channel’s senior meteorologist Michael Palmer. The worst of the storms were set for late morning and early afternoon, he said.
