Giants Look to Stay Unbeaten on "Orange Friday"

The Giants look to stay undefeated on Orange Friday.

Don't tell the San Francisco Giants that Friday the 13th is unlucky. They have won every single "Orange Friday" game this season on Friday nights when they've busted out the bright orange jerseys.

And guess what they'll be wearing tonight when they play the San Diego Padres at 7p.m. on KNTV NBC 11.

These Giants are 9-0 this season in Friday night home games in which they've worn the screamin' orange jerseys, with wins over the Braves, Cardinals, Rockies, Astros, Diamondbacks, A's, Red Sox, Mets, and Dodgers. You can verify this for yourself if you have that much time on your hands.

And we here at NBC Bay Area don't mind pointing out that the Giants are 7-0 in Orange Friday games broadcast live on KNTV. And did we mention that tonight's Orange Friday game is being broadcast live on KNTV?

Tonight's starting pitcher Jonathan Sanchez is not exactly struggling with his confidence. "We're going to play San Diego, and we're going to beat them three times," Sanchez told the Mercury News, referring to this weekend's three-game series against the NL West leaders.

And this year, it's tough to argue with a guy in a screamin' orange jersey.

Joe Kukura is a freelance writer who probably gets the blame for jinxing the team if they lose tonight.
