Patrick Marleau made history, Chris Tierney scored twice, and the Sharks continued their recent surge with a 4-1 win in Vancouver on Thursday night.
San Jose won its eighth game in the last nine, aided by Marleau's 500th career goal, which opened the scoring in the first period.
On a Sharks power play, Marleau fired a wrist shot past Ryan Miller at 9:30 of the opening frame. Brent Burns' stretch pass to Joe Pavelski resulted in a two-on-one, and Pavelski quickly dished the puck to Marleau, who beat Miller to the short side.
Marleau became the 45th player in league history to reach 500 goals.
Tierney increased the Sharks' lead to 2-0, popping in the rebound of a David Schlemko shot at 15:59 of the first period.

Vancouver, which was outplayed early perhaps due to playing its first game after the All-Star break, was better in the second while putting 16 shots on goal. Martin Jones stopped them all.
The Sharks goalie denied Loui Eriksson alone in front early in the frame, and then held the line when the Sharks left Alex Burrows all alone in front of the net after some late pressure from Vancouver.
Burns added insurance early in the third, getting to the front of the net and stuffing in a Tomas Hertl pass less than a minute in. It was a team-leading 22nd for the defenseman, who has remarkably scored a goal in eight straight road games and has a 13-game road point streak.
Jones his most impressive save about six minutes into the third period, getting a pad on Daniel Sedin's attempt from the front of the net.
Philip Larsen cut into the Sharks' lead with a slap shot that ricocheted in off of Paul Martin's skate at 6:35, to make it a 3-1 game. That was the only goal Jones would allow, though, as he finished with 32 saves and won his 27th game (27-15-2).
Tierney - who had just one goal and two assists in his previous 21 games - capped the scoring with a goal at 14:41 on a power play, aided by a Joel Ward screen. It was initially waved off due to perceived incidental contact with Miller, but a coaches challenge restored what was Tierney's sixth goal of the season when a review showed Ward didn't interfere with the goaltender.
Vancouver lost in regulation at home for the first time in nine games (7-1-1). The Canucks have lost three of four overall (1-3-0).
The Sharks and Canucks will see one another four more times this season, with the next coming on Feb. 25 at Rogers Arena in the first game after the bye week for both clubs. San Jose has won nine in a row at Rogers Arena.
Special teams
The Sharks finished 2-for-3 on the power play, and are 4-for-12 over their last four games. San Jose recorded its first multi-power play goal game since Dec. 16 at Montreal.
Vancouver failed on its two advantages. San Jose is 8-for-9 on the penalty kill over its last four games.
In goal
Jones, who grew up in North Vancouver, improved to 3-1-0 in his career against the Canucks. He has started five of the last six games, and is 6-1-0 in his last seven starts.
Miller allowed four goals on 32 Sharks shots. He's 10-5-0 in his long career against San Jose.
Lineup
The Sharks did not make any changes to their lineup from Tuesday's game against Chicago. Joonas Donskoi (upper body) remains out, and did not make the trip.

The Sharks return home for a quick one game against last place Arizona on Saturday, and then begin a four-game Eastern Conference road trip in Buffalo next Tuesday, Feb. 7.
