"[The album is] coming out this summer," she told the mag of her debut album with her band, The Pretty Reckless. "We wrote it as a record, so every song is part of a bigger thing. I don't know—I just want people to hear it!"
The group's first single, "Make Me Wanna Die," soundtracks new movie "Kick-Ass," and Taylor told EW a video is on the way as well.
"It fits the song. It's very dark," she said. "It's a tragic love song. It's Romeo and Juliet—can't live without your lover so you die."
While Taylor and her long blonde locks have been compared to fellow rocker Courtney Love, the star said she'd rather be Courtney's late husband.
"I don't wanna be Courtney Love – I want to be Kurt Cobain," she said of the Nirvana frontman. "He's brilliant and his songs are genius."
However, she didn't diss Courtney's band.
"The Hole records are great," she said, explaining that their seemingly shared style was just a coincidence. "Don't a lot of girls dress like that?"
The 16-year-old star is already making style statements of her own.
"I don't really like pants, man. I like tights. I'm not really a pants person," she said.
As Season 3 of The CW series draws to a close – and The Pretty Reckless plans to tour — Taylor's future on "Gossip Girl" is up in the air.
"I've been acting since I was 2," she said. "I don't dislike it by any means, but it's a job to me. Music is who I am."
Though she's not the only singer on the "Gossip Girl" set — co-star Leighton Meester released has released two singles since October 2009 — don't expect to hear a Jenny/Blair collaboration any time soon.
"I'm not really close with my cast. We're all cordial and nice to each other, but we're not really friends outside of the set," Taylor said. "And we're doing a different thing: [Leighton is] putting out a pop record, which is awesome."
