San Francisco firefighters and the U.S. Coast Guard have located two distressed kayakers in the San Francisco Bay and are searching for a third kayaker, a fire dispatcher said.
The fire department received a call at 4:08 p.m. reporting several overturned kayaks near McCovey Cove, which is where the Bay meets Mission Creek near San Francisco's AT&T Park.
The fire dispatcher said that they have located two of the victims and that the Coast Guard was assisting with a search for the third.
The Coast Guard said that, as of 4:45 p.m., a helicopter had spotted two people in the water and that a small boat was traveling to the scene to assist with the rescue.
