U.S. Coast Guard crews were working Saturday morning to retrieve a
boat that capsized near the San Mateo Bridge Friday afternoon, coast guard
officials said.
The 14-foot boat remained in the water following a Friday
afternoon water rescue where emergency personnel pulled out a 16-year-old
girl and a 51-year-old man about a mile and a half south of the bridge around
4 p.m.
After the boat capsized, Alameda County fire crews went in to
rescue the pair, who were about 200 feet from the vessel.
They were brought safely to Redwood City for medical care, fire
officials said.
This morning the overturned boat was spotted north of the bridge,
but had moved underneath the span around 11 a.m.
Crews will try to remove the boat by the end of the day, according
to the coast guard.
