Four Of USA's Five Spendiest Cities Are In Silicon Valley

Of the five cities in the country where people spend the most, four are in Silicon Valley, according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

According to data submitted to personal finance service Mint, Palo Alto residents spent the most every time they swiped a card or wrote a check: their $345.09 per average transaction was the highest in the country.

After that: Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Fremont, and then New York at $239.85, the newspaper reported.

San Francisco and San Jose followed suit with $235.90 and $216.86, respectively, for six Bay Area cities on the list of the ten spendiest places in America.
