Four people were rescued from Tomales Bay this afternoon after their sailboat capsized, a Marin County fire battalion chief said.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a capsized boat at 4:28 p.m. and pulled the boaters out of the water by 4:48 p.m., Battalion Chief Mike Giannini said.

Giannini said the rescued party, which was reportedly made up of two adults and two children, are being assessed by first responders to determine whether they should be taken to a hospital for further treatment.
