Menlo Park Police Officers Involved in Fatal Shooting of Burglary Suspect Back on Duty

The district attorney is still reviewing the deadly shooting of a burglary suspect by Menlo Park police, but the city's chief has put the three officers involved back on duty.

Chief Bob Jonsen told The Almanac he is comfortable with the officers returning to duty.

Jonsen said he talked to the San Mateo County District Attorney, and they both agreed there was no reason to keep the officers on leave.

On Nov. 11, the officers said an alleged burglar pulled a gun and pointed it at them. That is when they opened fire, killing the suspect.
