Last night's Academy Awards show was mediocre, but I found it much easier to watch while using Twitter. And apparently I wasn't the only one.

According to TechCrunch, Mass Relevance and TweetReach, a Twitter analytics service with commercial access to the Twitter API, have teamed up to make a data map of yesterday's mass conversation.

The team tracked Oscar-related terms, while the show was being aired, between 5:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. PST, and come up with some impressive numbers.

During the show, there were 1,269,970 tweets, 1,663,458,778 potential impressions, and 388,717 users tweeting.

If you were wondering, the most tweets came shortly after the Auto-Tune montage around 7:20 p.m.
