Workers at the Port of Oakland are unloading an Israeli ship after demonstrators managed to postpone their work for 24 hours.

Protesters picketed at the Port of Oakland to prevent the incoming ship from being unloaded on Sunday. The dock's day shift of longshoremen did not cross the picket line.

International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 10 business agent Frank Gaskin said workers began unloading the Israeli Zim Lines ship at 8:00 Monday morning.

The picketers were protesting Israel's raid of a Gaza-bound international flotilla that left nine pro-Palestinian activists dead in May. Israel has eased the blockade under intense international pressure.

Oakland police said no demonstrators were arrested.
