Taco Lovers Rejoice: National Taco Day Lands on Taco Tuesday

The routine "Taco Tuesday" just jumped up a notch.

As it happens every year, Oct. 4 is firmly penciled in as National Taco Day. What makes this annual celebration ever tastier this go around is that it just happens to fall on the day of the week famously referred to as "Taco Tuesday."

Whether you plan to satisfy your cravings at a beloved taco truck or dine-in at the neighborhood taqueria, a few establishments will be celebrating with you.

On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is offering its spread of mini tacos for a price of just two quarters, according to its Twitter page.

Chipotle Mexican Grill joined in the festivities by rolling out chorizo, a spicy pork sausage, to its menu nationwide, CNBC reported.

While you treat yourself Tuesday, just know that you certainly won't be alone.

The National Taco Day website estimates that Americans downed over 4.5 billion tacos in 2015. Putting that number into astronomical proportion, 4.5 billion tacos lined up would reach to the moon and back.
