Delta Fox, 17, was standing with several other horses in Bennett Valley near Santa Rosa when someone shot him, the newspaper reported. He fled to his stable, where he collapsed and died at around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
Sheriff's deputies used a helicopter to search for the shooter but no one was found. The Animal Legal Defense Fund is now offering $5,000 for any information leading to the capture of the killer of a "kind and gentle horse," the newspaper reported.
