Wind Blows Fog Away by Midday

Hardly Strictly, Fleet Week, America's Cup, Giants and 49ers make for busy weekend ahead.

The Bay's Biggest Weekend has arrived and one of the big questions for the million or so people who are headed into San Francisco centers around the weather.

Well, the news is good according to NBC Bay Area meteorologist Christina Loren. She says the morning fog that blanketed the Golden Gate Bridge early Saturday will clear in time for the Fleet Week air show. In fact, it cleared in time for the Parade of Ships.

Loren credits the wind. But she says the same sea breeze that will push the fog out of the way will also keep things cool by the bay. The forecast high for San Francisco is  69 degrees, but Loren says the steady breeze will make it feel cooler.

Also- once the sun goes down, the temperatures will drop. That means the 41,000-or-so Giants fans headed to AT&T Park tonight should be ready for a chilly game between the Giants and the Reds.

Tomorrow will also start with a layer of fog on the bay, but it will stay cloudy in the city the entire day. It's not enough to cancel or even delay Sunday's airshow. Loren says the best visibility of the day will be between noon and 4 p.m. which is perfect time for the air show.

Sunday night's Giants game could be foggy and cold, according to Loren.

Air shows and sporting events aren't the only thing happening this weekend. The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass music festival began Friday at Golden Gate Park Friday. The crowd estimates for the three day festival is between 500,000 and 800,000.

With all of the above going on traffic and parking are going to be issues. Public transportation will also be jam-packed.  Click here for more public transit options.
