$14 Million to Live Green

Pacific Heights mansion hits the market for $14 million

Being green comes with a cost and in San Francisco that price tag can cost you as much as $14 million.

We can't really vouch for the sultan's bedroom or the rear facade's simulation palace, but there's much that's droolworthy in the Pacific Heights' home on 2342 Broadway St.

The 6,500 square foot home sold in May of last year for $5.6 million, according to SocketSite, and is now asking for way more than double at $14 million. Mmm... bold.

The house is all about location and its commitment to the environment. It is across the street from the "Party of Five" house, which was also recently listed on the market.

The house was completly gutted and fixed with high-end furnishings, solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system, according to Real Estate blog SocketSite, which also reports the home could get LEED Platinum certification.
