After a successful run in California last year, the Holiday Lantern Light Festival and carnival is returning to a new and larger location at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo.

The festival is a celebration of Chinese culture and offers a unique entertainment experience for the entire family. The festival features massive lanterns, inspiring performances, children’s activities, and a variety of food.

The Holiday Lantern Light Festival and carnival has partnered with Midway of Fun in order to bring attendees a variety of new activities. For the first time ever, witness the beauty of the lanterns from the sky as you soar on the mighty ferris wheel. Midway of Fun offers the most popular rides, games, and food concessions in the industry.

Each lantern is handmade, starting with full-size sketches. Multiple tons of steel, thousands of LED lights, and miles of silk-like fabric will be used to build the hundreds of lanterns that will illuminate the night, including a four-hundred-foot long Dragon, a thirty-foot-tall Panda, a Castle you can walk through, lantern tunnels, and a variety of themes.

The event runs Thursday through Sunday evenings, November 28 to January 26, 5 pm to 10 pm on Thursdays and Sundays and 5 to 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays (Also open special days during Christmas time). Ticket prices range from $18 to $56.95. Family pass, activity packages, Military, Senior and group pricing available.
