A person is accused of stabbing multiple girls ages 9 to 17 in a Massachusetts movie theater in an unprovoked attack on Saturday before leading police on a car chase to Cape Cod.
Sources tell NBC10 Boston Investigators that the incident is also tied to a death investigation in Deep River, Connecticut and a slashing attack in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Multiple sources identified the suspect as Jared Christian Ravizza.
According to Braintree police, the suspect entered AMC Braintree 10 around 6 p.m., walked past the ticket counter and entered one of the theaters showing "If" without paying. Police say then without saying anything and without any warning, the suspect suddenly attacked and stabbed four girls before running out of the theater and driving away in what appeared to be a black SUV.
The girls, ranging from ages 9 to 17, were taken to Boston hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The mom of three of the girls spoke to NBC10 Boston on Sunday.
Braintree police detectives were able to quickly review video footage to retrace the suspect's movements, and they were also able to capture a license plate number, putting out a call out to law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the suspect's vehicle.
Shortly after that broadcast, a vehicle matching the description was reportedly involved in a similar assault in Plymouth, Braintree police said.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said Sunday that Ravizza, 26, of Martha's Vineyard, stabbed two people at a McDonald's at the Plymouth rest area.
According to the district attorney's office, police received several 911 calls around 7 p.m. Saturday reporting that two McDonald's employees had been stabbed at the Route 3 rest area in Plymouth, and that the suspect had fled the scene.

Responding medical personnel found a 21-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both of whom had non-life threatening knife lacerations, the district attorney said. The woman was taken to South Shore Hospital, while the man was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth Hospital for treatment.
Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the McDonald's that appeared to show Ravizza reach through the drive-thru window and stab the male employee with a large knife. The video then allegedly showed Ravizza leave the drive-thru in a black Porsche, park the vehicle and go inside the McDonald's, stabbing the female employee before leaving the rest area in his SUV.
A witness at the restaurant provided the vehicle's plate registration to state police, and it was determined that the black Porsche Macan was registered to Ravizza. Detectives also learned at that time that a BOLO had been issued for Ravizza's arrest in other incidents.
A description of the suspect’s vehicle helped state police troopers locate it in Sandwich.
Troopers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver failed to stop, leading police on a car chase that ended in a fiery crash, state police said.
The district attorney's office says Ravizza was arrested around 7:15 p.m. in Sandwich and taken into custody. Ravizza is currently at South Shore Hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The arrest followed a day of multiple South Shore stabbing incidents that were allegedly carried out by Ravizza, the district attorney's office said, with Braintree police saying it appears as though the crimes are related.
Ravizza will face multiple charges in Plymouth District Court on Tuesday, including assault with intent to murder, and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. It was not immediately clear if the suspect had obtained an attorney.
An investigation by state police is active and ongoing.
