Congenital Heart Walk

The Children’s Heart Foundation will host the Congenital Heart Walk at the San Francisco Zoo benefiting vital congenital heart defect research (CHD) and raising awareness of congenital heart defects, the #1 birth defect in the United States.

Nearly 1 in 100 babies – a baby born every 15 minutes - or 40,000 each year in the U.S. alone, are born with heart defects. CHDs are problems present at birth that affect the structure and function of the heart.

With 20 events around the U.S. planned for this year, the Congenital Heart Walk series is the largest walk series solely dedicated to CHD research, uniting supporters of The Children’s Heart Foundation from around the country to help fund CHD research that improves survival, longevity and quality of life for the community.

The Congenital Heart Walk series directly supports the mission of The Children’s Heart Foundation: to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of CHDs. The series of walks will bring together 15,000 walkers, hundreds of teams and thousands of donors in the fight against CHDs. Join the Children’s Heart Foundation for the walk, family-friendly activities, entertainment and the chance to strengthen the community.

There is a $15 minimum fundraising requirement per participant at this event. Children under 2 are free.
