The 15th anniversary of the triathlon will bring together 1500 young athletes to raise money for the Silicon Valley Children's Fund. Kids will swim, bike, and run to encourage youth exercise and to raise money for a local cause. The morning-long event will be on Sunday, June 8th with several different races for age groups ranging from 6 years and under to 13-15 years. Last year's triathlon was able to donate $15,000 to foster youth in Santa Clara County. This year's goal is to raise $25,000 to benefit 1500 foster youth in Santa Clara County.
The Silicon Valley Kids Triathlon is an event owned by the Silicon Valley Triathlon Club and produced by Threshold Racing Inc. to introduce the sport of Triathlon to kids. This event promotes a fun and healthy way for kids to have a feeling of accomplishment and encourage self-esteem. The Silicon Valley Kids Triathlon also provides the event's sponsors with the opportunity to be recognized as organizations that are committed to the youth of our community by encouraging sports and a healthy lifestyle.
Volunteers are also needed for the event! Volunteer opportunities for set-up, swim, bike, run, registration, transistion area, finish line, food, H2O, and tear down. 300 volunteers are needed.
