All it took was a couple of tweets from Bay Area comedian W. Kamau Bell to get hundreds of people to take up the cause of an African American veteran who claims the City of Berkeley forced him out of his home over code violations.
But even though strangers raised tens of thousands of dollars, it may not be enough to pay off the repair debt and get him back into the place he's called home for 45 years.
