Bay Area residents and utility crews are preparing for the second round of heavy showers set to strike the region Thursday night.
This next round of wet weather is expected to be stronger with heavier winds that could cause downed trees and power lines. The storm is expected to linger through Saturday.
PG&E crews spent Thursday surveying neighborhoods and said "all hands on deck" will be available to respond to power outages from the storm.
In Redwood City, Ardith Woodruff was not surprised to see PG&E crews on her street.
"We've had many a live limb go through our roof, but you do live with risk," Woodruff said. "That's it. I'm not going anywhere."
Palo Alto-resident David Rageis was one of several locals picking up sandbags in anticipation of the storm.
"When it rains my daughter's garage will flood," he said. "And she's in a lower area so that's why I need to put them so water doesn't get inside her garage."
The first storm dumped down on the Bay Area on Wednesday, sparking flight cancellations, downed trees, outages and heavy traffic.
