Ex-Stanford Hospital Employee Accused of Inappropriately Touching Patients

A former Stanford Hospital operating room technician has been arrested on suspicion of inappropriately touching patients under his care, police said.

Fremont-resident Robert Lastinger has been booked on four counts of sexual battery.

Investigators said the alleged incidents all started at Stanford Hospital's Outpatient Surgery Center's recovery room, where some employees reported seeing Lastinger inappropriately touch patients who were sedated.

On April 2, the hospital put Lastinger on administrative leave and notified police, which prompted an investigation.

The investigation has found four victims who were operated on between March 15 and April 2.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact Detective Dave Cirina at 650-780-7607 or Detective Glenn Albin at 650-780-7141.
