San Bruno Fire Dept. Secretary Arrested for Allegedly Propositioning Minor

A San Bruno Fire Department secretary was arrested Tuesday for allegedly propositioning a teenage boy for a sexual act at Peninsula High School last week, police said.

Gary Carson, 68, allegedly passed a note to the 16-year-old victim on Friday at the school at 300 Piedmont Ave., according to police.

Police received a report of the incident on Monday and a subsequent investigation identified Carson as the suspect. He was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on Tuesday on suspicion of communicating with a minor with the intent to commit a felony, police said.

Carson has been placed on paid administrative leave from his position with the Fire Department, according to police. He was off-duty at the time of the alleged proposition.

Carson's LinkedIn profile indicates he had worked for the San Bruno Fire Department since 2001.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call San Bruno police at (650) 616-7100.
