The Kings need to go on a run if they're going to qualify for the playoffs, and they have a chance to start one with a victory over the lowly Knicks on Saturday morning.
Sacramento (32-32) is currently 4.0 games out of a playoff spot with 18 games remaining, so they need to win the games they're supposed to win the rest of the way, and then some. Saturday's game against the Knicks certainly falls in the supposed-to-win category.
New York (13-52) has the worst record in the league. They've lost four in a row, including a 115-108 defeat at Sacramento on Monday, which officially made the Knicks the first team in the Eastern Conference eliminated from playoff contention.
Perhaps the biggest challenge the Kings will face could be the odd start time. It's a 9:00 a.m. tipoff (Pacific), which is liable to throw Sacramento off their typical game day rhythm.
