The Internet Criticizes Kevin Durant for 2010 LeBron James Tweet

A Kevin Durant tweet from six years ago has resurfaced on the internet β€” but not in a good way.

In the tweet, Durant publicly criticizes LeBron James for his decision to sign with the Miami Heat – a very similar decision Durant made Monday.

The tweet stated, "Now everbody wanna play for the heat and the Lakers? Let’s go back to being competitive and going at these peoples!"

Several Oklahoma City Thunder fans have expressed their disappointment by sharing photos and videos burning the basketball players Oklahoma jersey.

Some have even gone as far as to call Durant a traitor.

"Gonna put tape over 'Durant' on the Jersey and put Traitor and burn it after," tweeted Alan on Tuesday.

Durant will sign a two-year $54 million contract with Golden State Warriors this upcoming season, providing him with the chance to re-enter the free agent market.

In his announcement, Durant stated, "It really pains me to know that I will disappoint so many people with this choice, but I believe I am doing what I feel is the right thing at this point in my life and my playing career."
