Rob's career in broadcast news began off camera as an ABC News production associate for "20/20" and "Primetime Live." He later joined the local news assignment desk at KNBC in Burbank where he was assigned to special news projects.

Before calling NBC11 home, Rob worked in Seattle and Sacramento where he spent three years as a morning and weekend weather anchor. Rob was also a weather anchor and reporter in San Luis Obispo and Palm Desert.

In May 2002, Rob received an Emmy award for "Best On Camera News: Weather" from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, San Francisco Chapter. Rob completed his Master of Science degree in Geosciences (Meteorology/Geology/Hydrology) from Mississippi State University and holds the American Meteorological Society's Television Seal of Approval.

His work in the community includes the Lupus Foundation of Northern California as a volunteer board member and communications chair and assisting the Asian Community Mental Health Services in the East Bay with events during the year.

Rob was married to his wife Sarah at St. Mary's College in Moraga in November 2008.  They live happily in San Ramon with their two Cavalier King Charles spaniels "Barkley" and "Brittany."
