A general view of the crowd during day two of the Outside Lands festival at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The city was ranked the third most eventful city in the country.
It's got everything -- from the old school to the new. And by that we mean Al Green will be performing his classic soul and the Strokes and Kings of Leon will also fill the air with their modern hits.
This music, art, food, wine and eco-friendly festival began in 2008 and now it's in full swing. Golden Gate Park has stages set up and, literally, miles of fencing to keep a lid on the crowd.
Now, back to that eco-twist. There's valet bike parking for those who enjoy pedaling and don't want to circle like a shark looking for car parking. There's cell phone recycling, an ocean beach clean up and the totally-solar Panhandle stage.
And it's best to leave those water bottles at home. The festival's organizers are asking people to to bring a more environmentally friendly option, like refillable aluminum bottles or another type of reuasable container. Fans who come with their 08/09 Outside Lands bottle can drink water for free all weekend.
Heading to the festival? Better grab your blanket and get a spot early.
The first show starts at noon Saturday. The festival runs through Sunday with bands playing on five different stages.
