Christmas in the Park Parade and Tree Lighting

Join NBC Bay Area Mike Inouye at Christmas in the Park’s main event, the parade and annual lighting of the Community Giving Tree. On Friday, November 29,  the kick off event will feature a “parade of neighbors” float program where various groups from San Jose will decorate floats with a lighted holiday theme. The parade starts at 5:00pm and is immediately followed by the tree lighting and an evening full of festive entertainment. Also included in the event, Christmas in the Park will be honoring many individuals who played key roles in creating and keep the event alive for so many years, including former Mayor Tom McEnery, the Lima family and Les Yeffa, who has served as a volunteer since the event started in 1980. With a “variety show” of entertainment that will feature performances by Dancyn Studio, Cirque Dreams Holidaze and the Mary Ellen Duo, opening night will certainly be the place to be this Thanksgiving weekend.
