Flights Delayed, Canceled at Multiple Bay Area Airports

Travelers in the Bay Area can expect delays at San Francisco International Airport and Mineta San Jose International Airport Tuesday night due to stormy weather, according to officials from both airports.

In San Francisco, the airport had by 7:30 p.m. experienced 247 delays lasting from 15 to 90 minutes. SFO had also experienced 22 cancellations. Bob Rotiski, airport duty manager, said delays could continue until about 9:30 p.m.

In San Jose, at least one inbound flight from Denver had been cancelled Tuesday night, and of the few flight delays one had been stalled for at least five hours, airport spokesperson Rosemary Barnes said.

Barnes said she recommends travelers check at least 24 hours in advance with their flight carriers for updates on delays and cancellations due to inclement weather.
