Drones, drones and more drones! From fighting fires in Menlo Park to monitoring floods during hurricanes Irma and Harvey, drones are an essential part of our life now. Drone World Expo brought the latest in this cool technology to Silicon Valley this week.
Big names such as Lockheed Martin, Intel, Kittyhawk and Epson carried out demos for industry experts, commercial drone users as well as hobbyists
One of the highlights this year is how drones are disrupting the transportation industry, which involves big names like UPS, NASA, Uber Elevate and Ford at the expo.
"Everybody's developing some amazing technology - at the end of the day it's not about the drone, it's about the data that's collected and what it can provide to the end user, and that's really what's important. It's not about what's flying in the sky, it's about how that data is collected and used," said Gretchen West, co-executive director of the Commercial Drone Alliance in Silicon valley.
