Today marks one year since 5-year-old Hasanni Campbell was reported missing.
His foster dad at the time, Louis Ross, told police that he drove the boy to an Oakland shoe store to meet his then-fiance, Jennifer Campbell. Ross claims left Hasanni in the car in the back and walked to the front. By the time he got back to the car, Hasanni was gone, Ross told police.
The little boy had cerebral palsy and apparently walked slowly. Ross and Campbell were arrested but released for lack of evidence. They have apparently moved away and separated.
But where is Hasanni? Police say there is nothing new -- but the case is still open.
Sherri Lyn Miller follows it closely. She runs a print shop in San Leandro and says she started looking for Hasanni the day after he was reported missing. She has distributed fliers and T-shirts and has even organized searches to find the little boy.
On the day marking one year since Hasanni's disappearance, Miller says she will meet with a member of the Alameda County District Attorney's Office to see how they can use their resources to better help the investigation.
There will be a rally outside the court at 4 p.m. and a prayer vigil at Westminster Hill Presbyterian Church in Hayward at 5 p.m.
Miller has never met Hasanni but feels that considering he is a foster child, he's everyone's child.
Hasanni was last seen publicly at a Fremont Wal Mart four days before he was reported missing. His biological family that misses him terribly. If you know anything about the case contact Oakland Police.
