A homemade Molotov cocktail - a Corona beer bottle stuffed with a rag and accelerant in it - is the likely source of a fire that broke out at a Pleasant Hill strip mall early Monday morning, firefighters said.

Firefighters immediately called the 12:30 a.m. fire at the mall in the 500 block of East Contra Costa Boulevard suspicious.

A nail salon and day massage parlor were most damaged by the fire. Crews were able to knock down the blaze within an hour.

This is at least the second Molotov cocktail incident in the Bay Area reported over the weekend. A Santa Rosa woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly throwing a lighted Molotov cocktail through a neighbor she had been fighting with.

Stringer Craig Cannon contributed to this report.
