San Jose police ramped up patrols around Willow Glen Middle School Monday after receiving tips about possible threats at the campus. But it was determined early in the day that the threats were part of a hoax and the student who made the threats will be suspended and now faces expulsion.

Police say they some parents called Sunday night concerned about threats that were made online about students and teachers at the middle school but they were not sure if the threats were made toward students in general or the school overall. There had also been some reports that some students had been named in a "kill list" posted on a bathroom wall and online.

Willow Glen Middle School is flanked by a high school on one side and a day care center on the other. Police say as far as they knew, the threats were only made toward the middle school students and teachers but they took them very seriously.
