Morgan Hill police are looking for a man who attacked a woman and might have followed another in Safeway parking lots on Friday night.

Some time before 11:30 p.m. a 46-year-old woman from San Martin walked to her car in the parking lot of Safeway Foods at Tennant Station, police said.

A man who apparently had entered her vehicle through an unlocked door attacked her, hitting her with his fist and using a stun gun on her head and neck.

The man did not say or demand anything, leading police to believe he was looking to rape the victim.

The attacker ran away when a passerby who heard the woman screaming pulled up. The man was last seen running east toward Cinelux Theaters.

He was described as white, in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a dark hat or hood, dark pants and dark shirt.

In another incident, a 36-year-old resident of Morgan Hill was leaving the Safeway store at 840 E. Dunne Ave. when she noticed a man walking behind her. As she walked faster, the man also sped up, she told police.

After she got into her car and locked the door, the man tried to open the driver's side door. He did not say anything and the woman drove away.

He was described as Latino, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 200 pounds, with dark hair and dark eyes and wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Both women described their assailants as wearing a hood or hat over his head.

Anyone with information should call Det. Kevin Beilmann at 408-779-2101 or the Morgan Hill Police anonymous tip line at 408-947-STOP.
