A veteran postal worker was attacked on his San Jose route Wednesday morning.

Two dogs attacked the man at 10:45 at a home on Camden Avenue.

The dogs were a pit bull and a German Shepard.

The letter carrier was identified as Yuan Hu, a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service.

The dogs apparently broke through a gate in the front yard of a home and attacked Hu as he was dropping off mail. Hu ran in between cars in an attempt to escape the dogs, but they chased him down the street and attacked him.

He suffered bite wounds on his forearms and was transported to O'Connor Hospital.  He was recovering at home Wednesday evening.

Animal control took those dogs away.
