Serena Williams competed at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic at San Jose State University against Johanna Konta but struggled on the court. Konta defeated Williams with a final score of 6-1, 6-0.
"I think that I wasn't sharp at all in the first set and I guess she got confident," Williams said in the press conference after the match.
Konta was ranked No. 48 in the world prior to the match.
Despite the upset, hundred of fans continued to show their support throughout and after the match by screaming messages of encouragement.
