New Baby Bullet Service Begins Jan. 1

advertisement

Getting up and down the peninsula on the weekends just got a little easier -- or, at least Caltrain hopes so.

The new Baby Bullet service starts on Jan. 1, and will last for three months. The schedule has one train in each direction in the morning and one in each direction in the evening -- four trains in all.

Each train will make seven stops between the terminals in San Francisco and San Jose -- Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Redwood City, Hillsdale, San Mateo and Millbrae.

The stops were chosen based on ridership, available connections to other transit and proximity to city centers, such as major shopping centers or downtowns.

Since the majority of weekend riders are heading to the city for some tourist-ing, getting there will be quicker, but riders can still take a non-express train home.
