  • TheFacts Wednesday, Nov 19 at 3:17 PM FLAG COMMENT I wonder if you believe you're the only person concerned with th police having the best tools. If so, you are wrong. I'm certainly no bean-counter, just better informed than are you when it comes to the process of acquiring equipment within the police department. In this case, as is the case of all responsible government decisions, money does play some part. Additionally, this vehicle has no lengthy in-field experience to prove it is better or safer than the current police vehicles on the market. I would agree with the other blogger. It sounds like you do have some stake in Carbon Motors. In any event, the Department won't choose a car because it looks good or goes fast. The choice will be made with the consideration of a number of factors. If you know anything about law enforcement, then I'm certain you will admit that the primary factor in officer safety as it pertains to a police vehicle is the driving skills of the operator and NOT the vehicle itself. Perhaps we should put the extra money we'd use to buy the Carbon Motors model into more driving training for the officers. Besides, until the final production model is tested against all the other available police models in 2012, then how can you possibly claim it's the best option. So if you're pushing the untested/unproven Carbon Motors vehicle because you honestly think it's a good option, then I commend you. If you're doing it for any other reasons, get some integrity. And by the way, I'm pretty sure I'll be still be around and working in 2012-and probably not driving a Carbon Motors patrol car. ... MORE >
