London Breed made her first public appearance as acting Mayor of San Francisco during a press conference with United Playaz and other city officials on Wednesday.
At her first appearance, Acting Mayor Breed urged citizens to turn in guns at Saturday’s gun buy-back event. "Just like our late Mayor, I hate guns too," she said.
Breed was named acting Mayor of San Francisco after the unexpected death of Mayor Ed Lee on Tuesday. During the news conference, Breed said she had not yet thought about whether she will seek the mayor position permanently, emphasizing that her main focus is to assure city residents that everything will continue to run smoothly during the transition.
