Actor Gene Wilder, Star of ‘Willy Wonka' and Mel Brooks Movies, Dies at 83
Gene Wilder, the frizzy-haired actor who brought his deft comedic touch to such unforgettable roles as the neurotic accountant in “The Producers” and the deranged animator of “Young Frankenstein,” has died. He was 83. Wilder’s nephew said Monday that the actor and writer died late Sunday at his home in Stamford, Connecticut, from complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

Investigators Say Power Lines Caused Bethel Island Fire
East Contra Costa fire investigators have released a new video of what they say caused a fast-moving fire this weekend on Bethel Island. The video, shot by a night watchman early Sunday morning, shows sparks flying off of a power line. Investigators have concluded that it was a PG&E equipment failure. Sergio Quintana reports.

Robert Evans, Iconic Producer of ‘Chinatown,' Dies at 89
Robert Evans, the protean, fast-living Hollywood producer and former Paramount Pictures production chief who backed such seminal 1970s films as “Chinatown,” ”The Godfather” and “Harold and Maude,” has died.
