Gulch Fire

Cal Fire is battling a brush fire near Anderson Lake, east of Morgan Hill. At least 25 homes are being threatened by what’s being called the Park Fire.

It was a busy Fourth of July for Bay Area fire crews as they chased grassfires all day – and it only got worse as the sun went down. Illegal fireworks were the cause of many of the dozens of fires, some of which threatened or damaged homes. Thom Jensen reports.

Fire crews knocked down a 9-acre brush fire in Clayton early Tuesday morning that had threatened a mobile home park. Bob Redell reports.

Cal Fire officials have reported that the Gulch Fire that scorched 107 acres in the 600 block of Stage Gulch Road south of Petaluma in Sonoma County is now contained.
