The Battaglia Ranch Christmas Tree Farm -- and local American Legion Posts -- are working with a national effort called Trees for Troops. The goal is to provide more than 17,000 real holiday trees to military families across the United States and overseas.

Another key partner is delivery giant FedEx.

According to their release: "The American Legion Posts taking part in support of the Tree For Troops program are Post 99, Campbell; Post 217, Gilroy; Post 318, Willow Glen; Post 419, Santa Clara; and Post 881, Moffett Field.

"They will be around on weekends to help consumers purchase a specially priced 6/7 ft Noble Fir Christmas Trees, as well as to help them attach special greeting cards to the trees.

"Consumers can come to Battaglia Ranch Christmas Tree Farm until Sunday, Dec. 5, or make a request by e-mail (battagliaranch@sbcglobal.net) to purchase a tree for a military family.
