A team of six jets flew in formation over Redwood Shores Tuesday afternoon as part of an Electronic Arts promotion.

The Patriots Jet Team, a private aerobatic formation team, flew over the gaming company's offices at about 3:50 p.m. and wrote the number "4" in the sky with jet smoke at 10,000 feet, San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

A few minutes later, the jets made four passes over the company's headquarters at about 1,000 feet, Rosenblatt said.

The lower pass was expected to get a lot of people's attention on the peninsula.

The stunt is meant to call attention to one of Electronic Arts' popular games called "Battlefield 4," according to the Patriots Jet Team Twitter page.
